Basketball: Our girls U 15 won their first game of the season this past Thursday. Congratulation to
the all group and coach Marilyn!! They have been working hard and played games twice a week. The objective is now to win a game at Hazard Recreation center. The level is really good there, but we
believe we can achieve a victory!
Our high school team has been practicing hard with Coach Marilyn.
Eleven boys train together to be ready for the official YMCA season, starting late January. This team will also compete at the Staple Center On March 3rd 2010, before Clippers vs.
Phoenix. It will be a great moment!
This year we won’t play any official season with our boy’s junior
high group. The athletes will practice at school to be ready for next season. Coach Fabien thinks the group is young but talented. We are working on a long term development.
Volleyball: both group, girls U 18 and girls U 15 keep on
practicing hard. They wait for the season start and will compete against clubs. Girls U 18 will play an international tournament in Vegas, late February.
We have more than 30 students registered into boys U 17 and co Ed U 11
Volleyball groups. Students practice at school and have the opportunity to learn about the sport in a fun environment.
Soccer: Our U 12 team just won the WVSL season. We would
like to thank the all the group and coach Adrien‘s effort. They have been undefeated the all season. We had some very talented players, as Quentin Foucher, or Theo Grison. They will be all-stars
members this coming Saturday at Pierce College
Boys U 11 still have one game remaining at Pierce. This young team
has been playing well, and won some games in its bracket. We will have a strong group this coming fall.
Equestrian league: We would like to congratulate Lauren
Hunter who won the first place during the last competition. We are very proud of her results as LILA lion member. We hope she will keep it up!

It was a beautiful fall day in LA, with the afternoon heat of Hollywood transitioned
into perfect running weather for the midnight race. 8,500 runners lined Christmas Tree Lane from the turnstiles of the Coliseum to Figueroa
As they stretched and enjoyed a view of the iconic Los Angeles Coliseum, Roman and
Mr Lacroix got a preview of the Ultimate Nike Tailgate party location, that will open at noon on Saturday 24th.
On the course, they were greeted with live music stations at various energy spots, each featuring
hometown performers. USC student groups cheered on their peers and keeping the excitement level high. All along the Greek Row on W. 28th St, where the Nike Hub is located, supporters lined the
streets and provided that halfway push for runners. The revelers caught the Nike+ Human Race fever and cheered participants to even greater heights. The essence of this global running event was
capped with power stations along the course that highlighted videos of key race cities and the enthusiasm of international participants. LILA Team ran the roads of LA with images of other racers
worldwide to chase them down!....52 min….congratulations guys….

Here is a photo from the first IEL Horse show.
There were over 300 students riding from schools all over Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
Lauren Hunter was representing LILA at this competition. We would like to congratulate her for her participation.
Lauren is just beginning this journey, so she showed as a Novice rider. There were 34 students of different ages and grades in this level.
Lauren received a 4Th place ribbon for LILA. She was announced as "Fourth place rider, Lauren Hunter, riding for Lycee International of Los Angeles." It was very exciting to see her represent our
school. We can't wait for the next event to be organized. We surely will check Lauren's performance.

What a game
last Saturday!!! The West Valley Lions pulled off their first win of the season with style and tremendous soccer! Everybody was impatient to take on the Red Devils. Coach Esteban has decided to
change his regular formation a bit and went for a more offensive, quick-play set up. It was risky but it paid off very well ! The players followed directions to perfection and the goals started
pouring like hail. Two hat-tricks from Musa and Alex and a late goal from Carlos ended up this great soccer game, dominating the Red Devils to a remarkable final score of 7 to 1. Coach
Esteban is proud of his team's efforts and determination to achieve our first win. Way to go Lions!!!
